For the past month, well let’s just say last 12 days, I’ve been getting into the habit of bookmarking sites that inspire me. Inspire on various levels; aestics, layout, java script/flash features. The whole gammit.
So here’s the short list for October 2008. I suggest you poke around a little bit, dig up the css files, find out what javascript library are they using, which plug-ins, etc…. There’s some great things going on behind the scenes here and even better things going on in front of the scenes too.
- Carolina Jesus - Nice use of a scrolling plug-in.
- Orange Coat - A beautiful, well organized site. Their 404 generated a lot of buzz
- Housing Works - Great Design.
- Fall for Tennessee - These guys always produce great work for the Back Woods State. If you don’t know, they are Design Sensory
- Lush Pad - Clean, very clean.
Please feel free to comment on the above listings. This type of post will be created every month, with the intention to bring the likes and dislikes we have in our creative brains, to our clients. Hopefully the experiment will work, and both our clients an friends will get a sense of our design directions.

When we started to build the newest version of our website, we started to play around with the MooFlow plugin for the MooTools JS Library. The biggest thing we found and that we didn’t like about the original file was that there was no room for a transparent background and the autoplay feature was shotty at best. So we modified it to compensate for those two critical parameters. As the design started to take shape we decided to scrap the MooFlow idea. Lucky you! We’ve put it together into a nice demo for you to take home and use on your own. Hey it’s even tested down to IE6, so it’s gotta be good!
Here are some features of this hack:
-
Auto Play
-
Transparency Support
So have at it, enjoy, if you like it or use it, or even improve on what we did to it, please write a comment below. Thanks for taking the time on our sites.
